Have you ever wondered exactly why ‘gut health’ has become such a key focus in the health world? Why do we need to worry so much about these minuscule microbes? What do they do for us?
Turns out that your gut microbes have many, many jobs…
Here is a non-exhaustive list of some of the roles your microbes play…
1. Regulating your metabolism
2. Helping your body digest food
3. Producing hormones
4. Detoxifying toxic substances we might accidentally ingest
5. Training and managing our immune system
6. Preventing the overgrowth of pathogenic invaders
Not a bad resumé, hey?
…and whilst there is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ type of gut microbiome (i.e. every healthy gut looks different), there are some factors that seem to be a common sign of a healthy gut…one of these being a diversity of microbes!
To discover more about the role of our microbes and how to support a healthy microbiome, why not sign yourself up to our online course, ‘Healthy Gut, Healthier Baby’?
It’s currently free if you enter the code ‘HEALTHYBUB’ at checkout (normally $376!) so get in while you can!
