Introducing solids can be exciting, messy, and a tad overwhelming!
It also happens to be the time when your bub’s microbiome will change the most dramatically since birth!
You are setting your child up for life with healthy eating habits and a love for good food, so it is important to put some thought into introducing solids…
Here are 3 tips to help get you started on the right track towards supporting your baby’s gut microbiome development and journey to independent eating!
1. Wait until around about 6 months of age to introduce solid foods to your bub…(and no earlier than 4 months!).
2. VARIETY IS KEY! Aim to introduce as many different flavours, textures and colours (naturally occurring!) as you can (when it’s developmentally suitable.
3. DON’T FORGET THE ALLERGENS! Experts now recommend introducing the top allergens within the first few months of introducing solids.
